Calling all ex-Flint swimming club swimmers and families still living in the area.

We are holding a 50m relay gala on November 4th to raise funds for the club.
This will be followed by a get-together in the café/bar area.
It would be great to see some of the oldies back in the pool, so what are you waiting for?!

Chance for you to see the changes at the leisure centre.
If you have any photos you could bring along or any other club news from your time at the club that would be great.

Parents of present day swimmers are also invited to join in the fun.

VENUE Jade Jones Pavilion
TIME 2-30 p.m. to 4-00 p.m. (please meet at 2-15 p.m.) in the pool
THE BAR last orders 5-30 p.m.

Operation Tokyo Disability Development Gala - Bangor, 24th Feb 2018

Dear all,
The next Operation Tokyo 2020 Development Gala is just under 4 weeks away. We are still a little low on numbers of swimmers and volunteers for the event, so could I please that you continue to promote within your networks. There is no minimum ability level for swimmers to enter and if swimmers require support in the water, then this is allowed within the 10m races.

I want to make sure that swimmers in the North are also given that opportunity to experience this gala and get a chance to access the para-swimming opportunities available. Swim Wales see this as the chance for new swimmers to be seen, given important information and insight into Para-Swimming in Wales and be helped to access the level of teaching or coaching that will enable them to progress further.

There has been a really positive level of growth in Para-Swimming in North Wales over the past 12months. Jack Thomas (Swim Conwy) has been selected for Commonwealth Games, Carmen Lim, Para-Asian Games Champion and selected by Malaysia for the Commonwealth Games, has recently joined Wrexham Swimming Club and we have had a number of swimmers being identified and classified from clubs such as Caernarfon, Denbigh, Nofio Clwyd and Chirk. Further great partnership work has been created with clubs such as Flint and Mold. It would be great to continue this big step forward and increasing the level of swimmers in North Wales and bringing them through the system.

Please note, the Operation Tokyo galas are specifically for swimmers with a physical or visual impairment.

I look forward to hearing from you
Regards,
Huw Griffiths

New Groups

Dear Parents,
Along with this letter is the new groups will be issued, which will be effective immediately. For the past few weeks, we have been trying swimmers in different groups. The club asks that any payment amendments required are made in time for the month of May 2017.
Along with the group changes, there have been some other significant changes. These are:
1. Each session time now starts 15 minutes ahead of the booked water time. This is for many reasons. For some time, we have been getting into the water later and later. The additional 15 minutes is stretching time, which is an imperative part of training and inclusive of any session. Due to the pool space, the responsibility is for the swimmers to carry out their own stretches, and we ask that older swimmers come together to ensure the younger swimmers stretch too. Saturday mornings, stretches can be carried out before we come on poolside. Those that struggle to make the new times, we ask where possible, stretches are carried out prior to arriving at the pool. We hope that once this routine is established, the Pavilion will find a way to accommodate us.
2. Dragons 2 group has changed its name to Novice and Dragons 1 is now simply Dragons. This is to ensure the movements of groups is clear.
